Friday September 16, 2011 BIG MONEY WILL BE UP FOR GRABS AT THE BILL THOMAS MEMORIAL MICRO-SPRINT NATIONALS
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (September 16, 2011) - Micro-Sprint racers will have a chance at a big payday on Saturday, October 8 at Bridgeport Speedway. The Bill Thomas Memorial Micro-Sprint Nationals will pay a cool $1000 to the winner of the 270cc and 600cc Micro-Sprint 30-lap feature races. For the first time and going forward, this annual event at Bridgeport Speedway will honor the late William �Bill� Thomas IV, who passed away on October 23, 2010 following a courageous battle with cancer. Thomas was active in racing since the early 90s and an ardent supporter of Bridgeport Speedway�s Micro-Sprint race program. A strong field of competitors from the area is expected to be on hand for this special event.
On Saturday, October 8, the gates will open at 3:00 PM. Warm-ups will get underway at 5:00 PM with action set to begin shortly after hot laps. Pit admission will be $30. General grandstand admission will be $15 with no charge for kids 12 and under. Entry forms for the Bill Thomas Memorial Micro-Sprint Nationals will be available at the speedway and at www.bpspeedway.com.

Billed �The Fastest Dirt Track in the East�, Bridgeport Speedway is a banked 5/8th mile dirt oval, featuring a dirt 1/4 mile oval embedded in the center, and is located in Southern New Jersey -- just minutes from Pennsylvania and Delaware at exit 14 off of I-295.
